SundayGet settled and welcome dinner, an intro to traditional regional Italian cuisine

Meeting at Foligno train station. Private transfer to our nice agriturismo, a country house in Bevagna hills set among olive groves with splendid views above Bevagna. Walking tour in the historic center of Bevagna.

Welcome dinner at an Italian restaurant to enjoy traditional local dishes.

MondayWine tasting and cooking lesson

In the morning, drive to Montefalco visit the famous Arnaldo Caprai winery and taste their Sagrantino wine, considered one of the best red wines of Italy.

Drive to Montefalco and walk in the charming little town, called the “Terrace of Umbria” for its magnificent and gorgeous views. Visit an Italian shop of lovely, hand made linens and textiles. Light lunch.

In the late afternoon Italian cooking lesson based on regional specialties. Dinner of your creations.

Truffle Hunting

TuesdayExtra virgin olive oil tasting and truffle hunting with the dog

In the morning, drive to visit an extra virgin olive oil mill in Trevi -the Italian capital of the extra virgin olive oil- to see how extra virgin olive oil is produced and to taste it.

In the late morning, drive to the mountains through a panoramic road from where you can see all the mountains around, until a typical Italian farming family home. From there you can admire gorgeous valley and mountains views, so you feel like out of the world. An unforgettable experience! Truffle hunting adventure with the truffle hunter and his truffle dog in the hills.

Spoleto

On the way back stop in Spoleto. Spoleto is another beautiful town, very famous in Italy and all over the world because of the Music Festival in July. There are some spectacular spots to see, like the Duomo, the castle, the roman bridge, narrow roads and a beautiful shopping area.

Dinner based on a full menu of creative Umbrian dishes in a fine and pretty restaurant in the center.

WednesdayVisit Perugia, typical artisan shops and cooking lesson

In the morning drive to Perugia, Umbria's capital, which boasts Etruscan and Roman monuments, a lovely historic center with architecture of various periods, art museums and a main street full of shops, cafes and bakeries. Perugia is also famous in Italy for “Perugina” chocolate -the chocolate of Perugia- and especially for the little chocolate called “Baci” - Kisses.

Typical Ceramics of Umbria

In the afternoon, drive to Deruta to visit a ceramic laboratory. The owner will show you all the process to make and decorate the pottery.

Cooking Lesson

In the late afternoon, Italian cooking lesson in the area based on typical recipes of the region. Dinner of your creations.

Thursday Lentils and other specialties

In the morning drive in the Valnerina valley to the Plain of Castelluccio, a high plain where the best lentils of Italy are produced: "lenticchie di Castelluccio". From there there is a spectacular view, the best period to admire it is June because of the different colors of the blooming. It is an area of great environment value, paradise of the free flight and of the trekking. Light lunch. After lunch drive to a family honey producer and tasting of this wonderful product.

Norcia

In the afternoon, drive to Norcia, a pretty small town, still surrounded by its walls, with the doors opening themselves to a narrow network of small streets leading to the real heart of the city, the Basilica of San Benedetto, dated 13th century.

Walk in the beautiful historic center of Norcia with Italian food shops and lovely medieval "piazza".

Dinner at a typical trattoria to taste the traditional dishes of Umbria. This trattoria, family owned, is one of our favorite places!

FridayAdmire Giotto in Assisi and cooking lesson on legumes and cereals

In the morning, drive to Assisi and guided visit with a local English speaking guide of the famous Church of San Francesco d’Assisi -decorated with frescoes by the famous Italian painter Giotto- and of the historic center. Free time to explore and shop in Assisi.
Light lunch in a family winery admiring a beautiful view.

Back to Bevagna. In the late afternoon Italian cooking lesson at the agriturismo based on cereals and legumes dishes, traditional of the region. Farewell dinner of your creations.

Departure from Foligno train station after breakfast at the agriturismo.

Marcello & Raffaella started their family business in 1995. Married since 1980, Marcello and Raffaella have three lovely children, Emanuele, Francesca and Tommaso. They live in the historic centre of Bologna, Italy.

In recognition of their individual achievements, interests, skills and passions, they were destined to collaborate. Raffaella’s Law degree and her inherited family passion for traditional cooking, linked with Marcello’s vast knowledge of Italy and his professional experience in travel & tourism since 1978, enabled this dynamic duo's business to become a dream come true.

Stemming from their love and joy for their native region, which they know as well as the inside of their pockets, their business inaugurated their wine, food and cooking tours in Emilia Romagna. Due to their success, Raffaella and Marcello expanded their unique concept to neighboring Italian regions involving enthusiastic and passionate local people, who shared their vision, creating new and exciting gastronomic adventures.

Terms of Payment and Cancellation fees are as follow:

A 30% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of booking to confirm your participation in the course, as described above.

Remaining payment of 70% is due 75 days prior to arrival. If booking this course within 75 days of the course date, payment is due in full at time of booking.

Penalty for cancellation of booking is 50% of total payment, less the non-refundable deposit if cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to arrival. Penalty for cancellation is. 100% penatly in the event of cancellation by the client less than 30 days prior to arrival.
