The teaching kitchen
Would you like to learn how to cook like Italian mothers cook? With the help of Arianna and Monica you will learn to cook classic Venetian recipes in their warm traditional Venetian kitchen.
In this class, you'll learn to cook just like Venetian women do. In an informal and relaxed setting you'll learn to cook simple, everyday recipes which are easy to recreate back home - all while learning a bit of everyday Italian in this friendly home setting.

Monica and Arianna incorporate seasonal products into their cooking and proudly teach traditional Venetian classics, using a combination of recipes with influences from all over Italy and the Middle East. ™
Venetian recipes often incorporate spices and menu ideas from foreign lands; you see, Venice served as an international center for global commercial, military and religious traffic for more than 1,000 years and naturally, they inherited foods and ways of preparing the foods from foreign lands. During it's height of trade, Venice had a ruling class who were wealthy, business-minded in commerce and expansionism.
At the beginning, the population learned to live with the few resources that the lagoon offered such as fish and a few vegetables, but as Venice's population grew, the people turned their attention to the imports and incorporated the very best products from these lands into their way of cooking that we know to be "Venetian" today.
As you may have guessed, influencing in cuisine came from the Mediterranean region, Middle East and even from China and the Americas.

The hands-on cooking class is taught in English and is approximately four hours long and includes a recipe booklet in English with the recipes of the day. Transportation to/from your accommodations in the Riviera del Brenta area just outside of Venice in also included in the price of the lesson (please add 10 euro pp for r/t transportation to/from the glass bridge in Venice).
The cooking lesson takes place from 10 am to 1 pm, with lunch served between 1 pm and 2:30 pm based on the fruits of your labor. All meals are served with local white and red wine.
On arrival a selection of local cold meats, breads and cheeses and local wines will be offered for tasting.

About the Cooks
Monica has a deep passion for cooking. She's also a natural born teacher with over 20 years experience in teaching. And Arianna possesses fantastic culinary skills combined with a vast knowledge of Venetian cuisine.
Monica lived in England for 12 years and had been teaching Italian and English for 20 years, she runs a B&B on the Riviera del Brenta, she loves food and to talk about it and she also runs tours of Venice and its Osterie (Venice tapas bars); Arianna is an expert cook, she comes from a long tradition of farmers and cooking for large families and large gathering, she is passionate about food and traditional Venetian recipes.

PRICE PER PERSON - HALF DAY COURSE
140 EURO - ages 13 to adult
Children ages 5 - 12 - 75 EURO per child
(CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AT LEAST 1 ADULT)
A non-refundable deposit of 40 euro (per person) is necessary to confirm your booking in a one day cooking lesson. The remaining balance is due upon arrival - paid in cash (euro only please).
Once we receive your deposit, we will provide directions to the meeting point to begin your wonderful culinary adventure in Venice. Please note - transportation to/from this location is not included in the price and is available at 10 euro per person with a meeting point in central Venice.
ALTERNATE PROGRAMS OFFERED AT THIS LOCATION:
3 DAY COURSE: The lessons take place from 10 am to 1 pm each day with a one-hour tasting of the recipes prepared.
The cooking class is taught in English and lasts four hours , kitchen equipment (aprons, utensils, etc.) is provided, a booklet in English with the recipes of the day is provided, Included in the price is transportation to/from your hotel (if on the Riviera del Brenta, if in Venice or Mestre area a charge of 10 euro will be added). All products used are local and in season.On arrival a selection of local cold meats, breads and cheeses and local wines will be offered for tasting.
1 DAY: Learn to make a mouth-watering gnocchi and additional Venetian first courses recipes
2 DAY: Learn how to make delicious Venetian style risotto and other fine Venetian recipes
3 DAY: Learn how to make the real, authentic Venetian Tiramisu dessert and more Venetian dessert recipes (Venice is THE BIRTHPLACE of Tiramisu)
