Combination three-day guided gastronomical tour

3 Day Guided visit to Florence’s San Lorenzo market with a hands-on cooking lesson and gastronomic tour of Tuscany!

Market visit

Day 1 - Guided walking tour of Florence

You will meet your professionally licensed tour guide for a private walking tour of Florence. During your tour, your guide will provide tips and insight into traditional Tuscan cooking.

Following the tour, you will enjoy a nice lunch or dinner providing an opportunity to incorporate your new Tuscan culinary skills when selecting your lunch or dinner.

Day 2 - San Lorenzo Market tour & Cooking lesson

Your wonderful day begins with a visit to the famous San Lorenzo produce market in the heart of Florence where you will learn to shop like an Italian - utilizing only the very freshest seasonal ingredients in your meal preparation.

While visiting the market, you will stop to chat with local vendors and taste their lovely cheese, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. Silvia will introduce you to the cultural, historical and religious traditions which are so tightly intertwined with Italian food. You will also buy local specialties to taste during the “merenda”, the short break enjoyed while cooking.

Once you have experienced the flavor of the market, you will be taken to Silvia's home to begin preparing a complete Italian menu, from hand-made pasta, gnocchi, or risotto to a meat course with side dish and dessert.

Enjoy a break in your lesson to indulge in a slice of focaccia, salami and a glass of wine. Your final touch is to cook the pasta al dente before sitting down to enjoy your multi-course Tuscan lunch with wine paired with the meal.

Walk back to your hotel or Silvia will be happy to call a taxi for you. Evening free to explore Florence on your own.

Chianti hillside

Day 3 - Full day in Chianti

Visit to Consorzio Compagnia della Cinta or Pecorino cheese factory (producers of Cinta pork meat a local meat selection or producers of Pecorino cheese)

Visit to Greve in Chianti: local butcher, bakery, and Enoteca di Greve (on request - a visit to a local leather factory)

Included in the package:

  • Florence guided tour with a professional, licensed guide
  • Gastronomical coaching and the meal on day 1 (no wine and no taxi fare included)
  • Market visit, the cooking lesson with all ingredients, the degustation of the food together with matching wines and the printed material
  • Private guided visit to Chianti, including a wine tasting and gastronomic coaching during the day by a professional licensed guide, and experience and celebrated Tuscan chef (Please note that transportation costs to Chianti will be dependent on the size of the group, and the mode of transportation (tour guides private car vs.a rented car or private driver service - please inquire for the exact pricing)

Please note that this price does not include transportation, room and board or any other excursions.

This tour is available Monday - Saturday; tour operates year round with the exception of July and August.

  • 2 persons - $850 USD each
  • 3 persons - $700 USD each
  • 4 persons - $650 USD each

Payment is due in full to confirm your booking and is refundable up to 45 days prior to your lesson. Within 45 days or less of your lesson, your payment is non-refundable unless the class is canceled by the school itself for unforeseen reasons at which time your payment will be returned in full.

We highly advise you to purchase travel insurance in the event of emergency, illness, accident, changes in your itinerary or act of God, which we are not responsible for covering.
