This market tour and cooking lesson offers participants a personalized tour of one of Rome’s most famous food markets (choose from Campo dei Fiori or Testaccio). During your market tour, you'll enjoy the splendid sites and samples of the freshest selection of produce, freshly baked breads, meat and cheese that can be found in anywhere in Rome.

While you are exploring the market, your lovely host will provide assistance in selecting the best ingredients available on that date, as well as provide examples of famous regional products such as Roman artichokes and other fine local vegetables.

As you explore the market, you'll chat with the locals to learn about their products that they so proudly display.

After the tour you will head back to the host's gorgeous home to begin your hands-on cooking class in a bright, sunny kitchen - and if it's nice weather, you'll enjoy the fruits of your labor in the garden just outside of the kitchen.

About your host:

Your host for the day is a native Italian whose culinary skills were passed down to her from many generations of cooks in her family. She studied at the renowned Italian Cooking School  “Gambero Rosso”, attended the diploma class at the French Culinary Arts School “Le Cordon Bleu”, and followed a course at the International Cooking School of Naples.

Her food is delicious, her menus creative, her presentations simple and elegant and all presented as home-style cooking which is easily adaptable in your very own home based on the tips you'll learn during your lesson. This chef has a real passion for cooking and she is eager to share her culinary secrets with you on your next visit to bella Roma!

PROGRAM

9:30 am Welcome meeting at the “Testaccio” Market to shop  for the ingredients for the day's menu.

11 am Begin your hour hands-on cooking class in a beautiful home kitchen surrounded by gardens and fabulous artwork!

1 pm Lunch will be served in a beautiful dining room or in the garden (depending on the season)

The price includes: market tour, cooking lesson, lunch (various antipasti, first and second course with contorno, dessert all this with excellent Italian wines and a booklet with the daily recipes

Terms of Payment and Cancellation Policy:

Upon confirmation of the price based on the size of your group, a non-refundable deposit of 30 euro per person will be due to confirm your lesson. The remaining balance is due in cash on the day of the lesson (euro only please).

The deposit is non-refundable unless the class is canceled by the school itself for unforeseen reasons at which time any monies paid will be returned in full, less credit card or wiring fees. We also need a major credit card on file and in the event of a no show or cancellation, your credit card will be charged a 20% penalty as a result.

Please note that the price does not include transportation, room and board or any other excursions.

We highly advise you to purchase travel insurance in the event of emergency, illness, change in your itinerary, accident or act of God, which we are not responsible for covering.

No refunds will be provided for any non-refundable amounts paid unless the class or course is canceled by the school due to unforeseeable reasons and in this instance, we are not held responsible for anything other than refunding the monies paid, less wiring and credit card fees. Under no circumstances shall we be held responsible for any additional refunds of purchases made by the students for travel related expenses, or otherwise.
