Itinerary:
Saturday – Get settled and welcome dinner, an intro to traditional regional Italian cuisine
Meet at Bologna airport or train station. Private transfer and accommodation in an apartment (described below), private and completely independent, situated in the heart of Bologna, 5 minutes walking from the two towers - the traditional symbol of Bologna and from the Teatro Comunale and the Mercato di mezza (fresh produce market).
Welcome dinner for a first introduction to the traditional Emilia-Romagna cuisine.
Sunday – Cooking lesson and dinner
Morning meeting with your hosts Marcello & Raffaella while enjoying a cup of coffee or cappuccino to discuss your itinerary for the week. During this meeting, your hosts will provide you with information and suggestions to make the most of your stay in Bologna - including insider suggestions for spending your free time in this splendidly rich area of Italy!
Free time to explore the medieval artifacts in the city center.
In the afternoon, you will partake in your first cooking lesson that includes traditional recipes of the region, followed by a dinner of your creations.
Monday – Guided tour of Bologna
In the morning, you will meet with a local English speaking guide and enjoy a three hour guided tour of the city to learn the history of this medieval city, full of beautiful museums, churches and art works.

After the guided visit, free time on your own for shopping or just strolling in the main roads.
Tuesday – Shopping at the food market to buy ingredients for the cooking lesson and dinner
In the morning, you will walk to the central food market of Bologna, called "Mercato di mezzo". This is the oldest market in Bologna and is where native families of Bologna still go everyday to buy their fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and cheese. The market consists of a few ancient narrow streets stuffed with colorful, irresistible Italian food shops, stands and delis - it is truly a magnificent site to behold for the eyes as well as the palette!

During your market tour, you will buy fresh ingredients that will be used in your cooking lesson. In the afternoon, you will enjoy your second cooking lesson.
Wednesday – Day in Venezia, Firenze, Milano, Ravenna, Ferrara or Parma (alternate option to visit Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamico factories - please inquire for further details)

You will leave for Venezia, Firenze, Milano, Ravenna, Ferrara or Parma by train in the early morning.
Upon arrival, you will receive a guided visit of the city from a local English speaking guide, who will show you the most beautiful places of the city and explain about the history and culture of the area.
Free time to stroll in the town, then back to Bologna by train.
Thursday – Cooking lesson and farewell dinner
Enjoy free time in the morning on your own to shop and stroll the streets of Bologna In the afternoon, you will join your hosts for your final cooking lesson where you will prepare the recipes for your farewell dinner.
Friday – Departure day
Take your time! When you are ready, your hosts will transport you to the Bologna airport or train station.

About your accommodations
The apartment, private and completely independent, is situated in the heart of Bologna, 5 minutes walking from the two towers, symbol of Bologna, and from the Teatro Comunale.
The apartment is situated in a historical building that dates in some parts from the 13th century. It is located on the third floor - no elevator - and is composed of a living room with a kitchen area, one bathroom with bathtub/shower and one bedroom.
The apartment is furnished with two twin extralong beds (39" x 80"), laundry machine, CD player, hairdryer, wireless internet connection, heat, refrigerator, sofa bed, table and bath linens.
Terms of Payment and Cancellation fees are as follow:
A 30% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of booking to confirm your participation in the course, as described above.
Remaining payment of 70% is due 75 days prior to arrival. If booking this course within 75 days of the course date, payment is due in full at time of booking.
Penalty for cancellation of booking is 50% of total payment, less the non-refundable deposit if cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to arrival. Penalty for cancellation is. 100% penatly in the event of cancellation by the client less than 30 days prior to arrival.
