Meet Gennaro
Gennaro Petti is a professional Sommelier and a member of the prestigious AIS, a national association of
certified Sommeliers. Gennaro is your host for the evening, along with his lovely bride Chiara, daughter of the
world famous Mamma Agata.
Gennaro is literally a Sommelier to the Stars, as he has worked with many
famous Hollywood actors over the years. In 2007, Woody Harrelson joined
him for a dinner and wine pairing at Mamma Agata, at which time
Gennaro introduced Italy’s famous wine Sancti Medici to Woody’s
discerning palette.
Gennaro has also served as Sommelier to James Baker, who served as
the U. S. Secretary of State for the first President Bush and President
Reagan in the early 90’s when Mr. Baker’s son held his rehearsal dinner at
the Country House & Hidden Treasure.
Additionally, Gennaro served Sancti Medici to the Vice Chairman of
MGM Chris McGurk and Dennis Franz of NYPD Blue.

Tasting and Structure
Gennaro will teach you how to open a bottle of wine like
a professional , as well as teach you:

The amount of time necessary to allow the wine to breathe

How to select the proper stemware to accompany wines for any occasion

How to really TASTE your wine as you sip the wine

Learn how to plan for special occasions or every day
dinners through wine & food pairings

Learn to distinguish between the types of wines by its
inherent characteristics, method of production and
learn to identify and appreciate the delicious wines
from Campania.
Not only does Gennaro teach you about the wonderful
wines of Campania, but he also prepares for each class
by cooking delcious regional dishes and the time he spends in the kitchen
preparing some tasty dishes with the
same strong passion that he expresses to the students during each wine tasting!!!
Food Pairing
You will be treated to a wonderful selection of fresh,
seasonal foods to enjoy with your wine, including the
following:
Artisan cheeses and salami served with honey, sweet
onions and artisan breads and taralli (a dry bread that is
skilfully baked with nuts, olive oil and wine)
Mamma’s famous sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant
and ripe olives, drizzled with fresh pressed extra virgin
olive oil.
For the grand finale, you will enjoy a delicious slice of
Mamma’s world famous lemon cake.
And last but not least, you will be entranced by the
intrinsic beauty and peaceful qualities of this amazing
location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
