Welcome to THE Amalfi Cooking Vacation by Ciao Laura!
Through hard-work and a lot of research, we have carefully constructed an amazing cooking and wine vacation along the Amalfi Coast that has been a long time in the making!
This tour is one of a kind and not offered by anyone else. All tours and cooking lessons are hand-selected and created by Laura, especially for you.
Itinerary for the week:
Sunday
Private transfer from the Napoli Airport or Train Station to your
B & B accommodations in Amalfi.
Welcome to Amalfi! Upon arrival, your driver will provide a list of dinner recommendations and locations of interest in Amalfi and the surrounding area.
Time to relax, settle into your B & B, located near the center of Amalfi.
Dinner on your own in Amalfi.
Breakfast in the B & B
Pickup at 10:00 am and private transfer to Ravello for your first demonstration cooking lesson with the world famous Mamma Agata and her Hidden Treasure!
Upon completion of your cooking lesson, you will join fellow students for a lunch on the patio overlooking Ravello.
Free time to enjoy Mamma's beautiful lemon gardens and explore Ravello before your private transfer back to Amalfi.
Monday evening
6:00 pm - Demonstration Pastry Lesson with a local Dolceria in Amalfi. You will learn how to make delicious desserts from one of the most highly regarded pastry chefs on the Amalfi Coast. Includes a sample tasting of these hand-made sweet creations!
Tuesday
Breakfast in the B & B
Free time to explore Amalfi, including the famous Duomo, go shopping, or visit to one of the local paper making shops in the area.
Visit to a local mozzarella cheese producer who will show you the traditional methods used in making this delicious Italian cheese, a staple product in Italian cuisine.
And of course, no visit to a cheese producer would be worth the trip without a sample of the finished product, so get your taste buds ready for a sample of the finest and freshest Bufalo mozzarella you will ever taste!
5:30 pm - Private transfer to Ravello for a personal wine tasting with Gennaro.
Gennaro is the most knowledgable sommelier along the Amalfi Coast and he will introduce you to the varietials of the region.
This fantastic excursion includes a wine tasting paired with a wonderful selection of typical salami and cheeses of the region, served with organic honey and homemade marmalade. And if that wasn't enough to please your palette, the chef will prepare a traditional Neapolitan dish especially for you that includes freshly baked farmbread, olive oil and olives from the garden.
9:00 pm - Private transfer back to Amalfi
Wednesday
Breakfast in the B & B
9:00 am Pickup in Amalfi for a full day excursion to Caserta
Private cellar tour, wine tasting and home-cooked traditional Neapolitan lunch with your hosts Manuela and Peppe, owners of one of the most well respected wineries in the region.
Following lunch you will transfer to the Palace of Caserta for a guided tour of the Palace and grounds. The Palace of Caserta was once occupied by Italy's royatly and is considered to be the "Versaille of Napoli" and all of Campania.
4:00 pm - Private transfer back to Amalfi - includes a visit to Piccadilly ceramic artists in Conca dei Marini upon your return to Amalfi.

Thursday
Breakfast in the B & B
9:00 am Pickup for a full day excursion to Pompeii & Herculeum
10:30 am - Guided tour of Pompeii
12:30 pm - Free time for lunch in Pompeii (lunch not included)
1:30 pm - Transfer to Herculaneum or Vesuvius* for a visit and tour of the ruins
Private transfer back to Amalfi, enjoying the breathtaking sights of the Amalfi Coast along the way.
Free time to shop, enjoy a gelato or relax. Dinner on your own in Amalfi.
Friday
Second cooking lesson with Mamma Agata, followed by lunch and a limoncello tasting on the patio.
Private transfer to Positano for an afternoon stroll and shopping. Option to enjoy dinner in Positano (extra) or return to your B & B to freshen up and dinner on your own in Amalfi.
Saturday
Breakfast and Departure. Private transfer back to Napoli Train Station or Airport.

This tour is also available to those who wish to rent their own villa or hotel room. If you wish to provide your own accommodations, please let us know and we will send you a special price less our hotel.
Due to the popularity of this program, the days of the week for your above excursions may vary slightly based on availability at the time of booking; however, we will do our best to stick to the above itinerary as closely as possible and all excursions listed in the program will be included in your weekly program. Tour package can commence on another day of the week, based on availability.

Dinner and all meals not listed in the above itinerary. Tips and gratuities. Travel insurance, however you must either show proof of travel insurance or sign a waiver that you have declined travel insurance before this trip is confirmed.
* IMPORTANT NOTE - Pompeii, Vesuvius and Herculeum are not handicap accessible and can be difficult to maneuver for those persons with limited mobility. If you fit this description, please let us know and we will be happy to make alternative suggestions to your itinerary, such as a day trip to Napoli, including a visit to the Archeaoligal museum and lunch at a famous pizzeria
For those travellers wishing to partake in a tour of Pompeii, Herculeum or Vesuvius, the following clothing items are suggested for this visit:
- Walking shoes with rubber soles or hiking boots (not flip flops or sandals!)
- Layered clothing due to the changes in weather conditions;
- Water bottle;
- Waterproof jacket (check your weather before departure)
- Suntan lotion and a hat during hot and sunny times of year to avoid sunburn
DEPOSIT
Upon confirmation of availability, a deposit of 30% and the completed and submitted registration form will secure your reservation.
Final payment is due in full 60 days before your arrival date. If you are booking this class within 60 days of arrival, payment is due in full at time of booking to confirm your class. We will also need a credit card number to reserve your hotel room to cover incidentals and other personal expenses at your hotel during your trip.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your class at least 45 days prior to your date of arrival, a 50% refund will be made (less a $50 per person, non-refundable booking fee). If less than 45 days, no refund will be made for any reason. This is non-negotiable.
Should the school need to cancel your class, a full refund, less a $50 per person, non-refundable booking fee, will be made.
Ciao Laura, LLC reserves the right to alter its programs at any time due weather or other unforseeable occurences. In this case, we will work with the client to provide alternative arrangements; however, there are no guarantees. No refund or make-up classes will be provided to students who miss their scheduled classes due to illness or other reason.
