A number of perfectly preserved Medieval hamlets, with their watch towers that were once used to signal the arrival of invading armies, stand guard along the old road that cuts along the Valnerina.

Visit to Norcia, the main town in the Valnerina region of Umbria. Norica is surrounded by the natural reserve of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, which comprises an area formerly known as “Vetusta Nursia”. Visit in Cascia, the city of St Rita.

Visit to Spoleto and its large quantity of architectural and artistic treasures that make this city one of the most popular tourist destinations in Umbria, with the city build on sloping hills and surmounted by its imposing fortress. The home of the world-famous Two Worlds Festival founded by composer Giancarlo Menotti, Spoleto attracts hosts of arts aficionados each year from late June to the first two weeks of July.

Visit Castiglione del Lago a town on the southwest corner of Lake Trasimeno. Over the centuries, as the town grew, the flat gap between the island and the shore was filled with piazze, houses, churches and other buildings. The historical center of Castiglione del Lago is a well preserved medieval locality that seems to be governed by a "law of threes": in the town walls there are three gates, and inside the town there are three piazze and three churches.
