Join your hosts for a lovely week of cooking and sightseeing in glorious Campania. This course is taught in a family run culinary school in Sant' Angello di Sorrento, just minutes away from the ancient seaport of Sorrento which is known for its gigantic lemons, hand-painted ceramics and limoncello.
During your stay in the area, you will learn family secrets of making delicious pizzas, seafood dishes and Neapolitan tarts and pastries. You will also have an opportunity to explore the breathtaking sites of the Mediterranean sea, overlooking the cliffs of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
Discover the healthy secrets of Italian cuisine from your chef, who incorporates many of his home grown ingredient into delicious Mediterranean dishes.

Your Sample Itinerary:
Day One
Your driver will greet you at either the Naples airport or train station to bring you to your accommodations in Sorrento to settle in to your accommodations for the week. Depending on your arrival time, you will be free to explore the area on your own, with suggestions provided by your host. In the evening, you will join your fellow students for a traditional Neapolitan dinner.
Day Two
Today you will join your fellow students in the cucina to partake in your first cooking lesson of the week. Today's cooking lesson is based on traditional Neapolitan family recipes using fresh ingredients from the garden and local fish. Dolce will be based on fruit such as a fruit tart, fruit mouse, or rum Baba topped with seasonal fresh fruit.

Day Three
After breakfast your guide will take you to a famous wine cellar to have a tasting of the typical Campanian wines.
The afternoon will be spent at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a light dinner of fresh ravioli and a local pollo paesano sul girrarosto (fire-roasted chicken).

Day Four
A visit to the oldest olive oil manufacturers in Sorrento, which is renowned for its production of some of the best olive oil in the area.
During your visit, you will learn about the different methods used for olive oil production, including the use of an ancient olive press and your host will explain the difference between this ancient method versus the modern presses and process used in large olive oil factories today. You will be provided an opportunity to taste the different grades of olive oil and learn to distinguish the main characteristics of first rate olive oil.
In the afternoon, you will return to the cooking school to learn how to prepare preserved foods and liquors such as vegetables in olive oil and limoncello. This evening you will assist in preparing a simple and delicious authentic Neapolitan dinner.

Day Five
Today you will enjoy a full day excusion to Napoli, including a visit to the National Archeological Museum, Maschio Angioino Castle, Monastero di Santa Chiara and many other attractions in the historical city of Southern Italy, which together with Palermo, was one of the two capitals of the kingdom of Sicily.
Return to Sorrento for a taste of true Neapolitan Pizza.

Day Six
Visit the ruins of Pompeii or Herculaneum and Mt. Vesuvius on a half-day escorted tour. Then on your return to the host cucina for a culinary cooking class and dinner.
Day Seven
Private transfer to the Naples airport or train station. Time to say Ciao! to Sorrento.
